Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.

We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.

Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

Zenith ZHDTV1 Review #0
Rating: 2 (poor) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2008-09-18
Summary: No better than the loop antenna that used to come with all new tvs
Highly directional. Clumsy to rotate. Flimsy. Without extreme care, the antenna will slip out of the "end cap" containing the connector and break the wires, which are extremely hard to solder back.

Summary: Cheap and works well...
I installed this for a TV up the 10th floor of an apartment. The antenna is placed by the window with a long cable under the bed to the ATSC converter on top of the set at a corner of the room by the entrance. All the local stations pulled in fine except for 1 which is blocked by a building to the S-W. The American Networks CBS, ABC, PBS & WB all get pulled in from about 60mi to the S-E where Grand Island is by Niagara Falls. With the exception of NBC & Fox. It is kind of a blessing since this type of antenna is made to work for local stations with a range of 40mi at most. I guess the height of the building made up for deficiencies in distance. The only issue is that the TV had to be placed in the room facing the CN-Tower (where local stations broadcast from) since I don't want long cables from antenna to a TV in another room. A lot of indoor antennas tend to show interference when people walk by but not this one. I've read good reviews on the Internet but couldn't find it locally in Canada until I came across a electronic store downtown selling for around C$9 and got what I needed. I tried several other brands of low-profile antenna including ones from Phillips. This is still the best one.

Zenith ZHDTV1 Review #2
Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2007-03-14
Summary: PLEASE READ.
All these reviews are leaving out one important bit of info.... First off, you HAVE to have a TV with an HD tuner built into it(an ATSC decoder), or have a set top box (like the Samsung 260) to be able to catch sd and hd channels. If your tv doesn't have that, this antenna will not help you catch sd and hd channels, only regular over the air analog ones (that will probbaly give you a snowy picture). Please note, SD and HD transmission it sent out via UHF and VHF signals, so any old antenna (rabbit ears) will work. This one fines tunes and rejects the "stray" signals better than the rabit ears, so you should get better/more SD and HD channels with it. I said "should", because the channels you get will get/find will depend on the area you are in, and the available SD and HD channels the local brodcasters are sending out. The closer you are to a major city, the more likely you will "catch" these SD and HD channels with this antenna. With that said, this antenna (when used in urban cities close to the brodcast tower... about 30-60 miles) does a very good job of receiving free over the air SD and HD signals.

Summary: Beats my rooftop Terk TV32
Came free with a set. Purchased a Terk TV32 thinking I could raise signal from 70% to 90% or so. No luck, the roof antenna did worse - so now it's packed and waiting for eBay.

Zenith ZHDTV1 Review #4
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2008-01-31
Summary: Excellent antenna if you live close by
The ZHDTV1 is an excellent set-top antenna as long as you live relatively close by your local TV stations.

I live in the Buffalo, NY area and within 10 miles or so of all my local station's transmission towers. The antenna picks them all up from one aiming position, except one of the minor networks is weak unless I move the antenna.

The ZHDTV1 is very sensitive to movement and allows horizontal or vertical antenna fin orientation (it does make a difference). Even moving the antenna 1 inch one way or the other can make a difference in the signal strength you receive. I found one good position for mine and it works great in my apartment.

I highly recommend the ZHDTV1 antenna as long as you live within its reception range.
