Summary: Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!
I would give the ss 2000 10 stars if I could. I placed the antenna behind the dresser and bada bing 17 digital channels. One note it works best for digital channels not so good for analog, but who cares after February 2009 analog will be extinct. Thank you Winegard.

Winegard SS-2000 Review #2
Rating: 3 (average) Nickname: Tigerbangs Date: 2007-03-03
Summary: Average on UHF, poor on VHF: expensive for what you get.
if aesthetics are of primary importance to you, the SS-2000 is an adequate choice, but it has mad compromises in performance to give it greater eye-appeal. Don't expect it to do anything for you on Channels 2-6, and almost nothing on Channels 7-13 if you are more than 15-20 miles from the transmitters, but it is OK of antenna avoiders. If you are willing to put up with the appearance of a conventional antenna, you can do better for less money.

Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: MJ Date: 2007-10-26
Summary: Great for Distant Digital Stations
The Winegard SS-2000 is working great for us. According to antennaweb.org, we are located either 39.8 or 40.5 miles from the broadcast towers in Chicago, in a semi-rural subdivision (west of St. Charles/Geneva). We installed this antenna in our attic facing east (we have a ranch house, so the antenna is no more than 10-12 feet above ground level), plugged in the power, and attached it to the existing cable system in our house. This cable system runs to 4 or 5 rooms (through atleast 2 splitters), but we only have 2 TV's hooked up. With no additional adjustment, we were able to receive 25-30 digital channels on first pass. The only channel of signifcance that we could not receive was CBS (channel 2.1, frequecy assignment 3), which is what I had expected/hoped for. For some reason, many people in Chicagoland cannot get CBS. We purchased this antenna in case we needed to mount it on the roof for better reception, but this has proven unnecessary. To deal with the CBS issue, we installed a splitter as a "combiner" in the attic and attached our OLD antenna (a remnant from previous owners which is about 15 years old) to one side and the SS-2000 to the other. Viola! We now get all the digital stations we are supposed to receive and several that aren't even listed by the antennaweb.org website. As a side note, when we first used the OLD antenna, we were able to receive CBS and WGN (2.1 and 9.1) digitally, and occasionally FOX (32.1). This is what prompted us to try and combine the two antennas. So far, this has worked without a hitch. For the record, we have a Panasonic Plasma HDTV with a built in tuner if this makes a difference. Free HD signals are awesome!

Winegard SS-2000 Review #4
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: Scot Date: 2008-01-31
Summary: 5-star antenna for downtown Denver...
I've had this antenna for 5 minutes and I already give it 5 stars! I live on the corner of Speer and 12th Ave. I am less than .5 miles from the Republic Tower, where temporary antennas broadcast a few HD channels. Lake Cedar Group broadcasts channels 4, 7, 9 and 20 from Republic Tower - a temporary solution until the final tower is built on Lookout Mountain. Anyway, I have been using a cheap Radio Shack indoor antenna to pick up free OTA HD channels. I get 4.1, 7.1, 9.1, and 20.1, but 4.1 fades in and out all the time and is not reliable. On Monday, I realized that the Super Bowl is broadcast on FOX. We cannot pick up the FOX HD broadcast with the indoor antenna that we have. So, I immediately researched outdoor, directional antennas and found the Winegard ss-2000 amplified antenna to be a good choice. I bought in at www.newegg.com for $95 (not including shipping) in the hopes that it would pick up the FOX HD broadcast. This antenna rules. I immediately started picking up HD channels that we did not get before. Most important, we now get FOX HD for the Super Bowl! We still get 4.1, 7.1, 9.1 and 20.1, but now channel 4.1 does not fade in and out. We have solid signals on all the main HD channels. I highly recommend this antenna. Did I mention that it's not even mounted outside?? It's just plugged in, inside, right next to my TV. I doubt I'll ever mount in outside. If you live in or near the downtown Denver area and want to pick up the regular HD channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS), then this antenna is for you!
