Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: foothills Date: 2009-10-30
Summary: great reception
The quality is not the best. Screws are hard to turn, you can tell it is made in China. However, it works very, very well. We are 50+ miles from from Ashville. We just mounted it on the pole where the satellite dish was. We receive frequency 7 and 13 which are VHF. We receive channel 4(freq 36) Ashville which is in the violet range. We also receive several channels from Charlotte area over 30+ miles. We receive stations from Asheville, NC, Greenville, SC, Charlotte, NC, Spartanburg, SC, and Belmont, NC. It could be even better if we put it on top of the house.

Mine is in the basement collecting dust where it belongs.Had it up twice with little or no success. Channel Master is the way to go

Rating: 1 (very poor) Nickname: joe Date: 2008-11-22
Summary: not real preased
Had decided to buy the new Channelmaster but did not want to wait for it to come out. I live apreox 60miles from stations and they do not come in well at all.I have a channel master long boom antenna that is a crossfire version and it does well and is not as directional as this antenna. Also I tried the rg8 cable and a amp.Very flemsy antenna as well. Not Happy

Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: jamuhlhahn Date: 2008-09-23
Summary: Best UHF Antenna for the BUCK.
I purchassed the Wineguard HD-8800 From Solid Signal the best place to buy satelite and HDTV supplies. The Wineguard HD-8800 gives me 80 to 100% signal on all UHF channels which are from 5 to 50 miles away. I would highly recommend both Solid Signal and the Wineguard HD-8800 antenna.

Winegard PR-8800 Review #4
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: ctgottapee Date: 2008-07-03
Summary: great under ch30 and lightweight
unlike the cm 4228 and most other top quality consumer uhf antennas, this one peaks in the lower uhf band, something i needed to pick up ch18 and ch22 from 65miles away. it is lightweight, so i was able to drag it up to the roof alone. build quality is ok, but it is a bit less rugged due to its aluminum lightweight. it is built well but can bend easily; not sure how it will hold up under wind/ice loads or how much minor alignments issues will affect it. shipping is also nice compared to hte 4228 as it can be folded and shipped more affordably.
