| Summary: Great Attic Antenna | ||
| We are 20 miles from the local transmitters and have to receive signals literally through a forest of large trees. The reception on both VHF and UHF is absolutely superb. We are receiving both 100% signal strength and signal quality from all the Des Moines, Iowa stations I mounted it on an old torch lamp base and pole in the attic of our single story ranch house. The torch lamp base sits on a 24 inch square piece of plywood for stability. This antenna is quite large but very light weight. If you are going to put it in an attic, make sure that you have enough space, both horizontally and vertically. Once the arms of this antenna are snapped into place it is difficult to fold them back again. Do not unfold the arms until it is mounted to the mast. Unfold the longest arms first on the side of the antenna most away from your body. Installing this antenna was a real learning experience as it was my first project of this type. The results were well worth the effort. | ||
