| I have had this antenna in my attic for a while now. Build quality seems to be very good. Performance has been as expected on UHF, for both Analog and Digital TV. My stations are all between 15 and 40 miles away. I have a dipole cut specifically for Channel 11. (My only High VHF channel.) What was surprising, is a direct a/b comparison between this antenna and the dipole. I could tell no difference in AGC level or S/N ratio. This would generally indicate the antenna is at least equal to a High VHF dipole in gain. If you are within 40-50 miles over relatively flat terrain, I would say it is hard to beat this antenna. And considering the price, it is definately a winner. | ||

| Want to comment on what "So so Antena FOR ME anyway" said in his review. I both own several of these units, and have installed several for friends as part of an "area special" antenna system for my reception area. The PR-4400 or now HD-4400 is a good UHF band reception antenna for channels 14 through about 50, but not for either the lower or upper VHF bands ( channels 2-6 & 7-13, respectively ). It normally receives well out to 25 or 40 miles, line of sight, without need for amplification ( depending as well on the broadcast station's ERP ). However, the company or person who sold you this as being a "100 mile radius reception antenna" is simply a con artist, and needs a good kick in the back end. Tar & feathering would also be well deserved. In reality, and depending on your geographical area, there actually are few consumer UHF antennas that can make good reception out to 100 miles from a transmitter, both due to the inverse square rule for distance, the curvature of the earth, and land forms blocking line-of-sight. UHF signals are very "line-of-sight"; much more than VHF signals. Your best chance ( and its only a chance ), is to get either a Channel Master CM-4228, a Wineguard HD-8800, or a good, long UHF yaki, such as the Wineguard PR or HD-4032, plus a Channel Master #7777 pre-amp ( very low noise ratio ), and have it installed by someone who knows what they are doing. But at 100 miles from the broadcast location, all guarentees are off. Wish you the best of luck. | ||

| Bought this antenna and received it today. It looks like a nice antenna but it simply isn't quite as good as my 15 + year old bent up junker that was on the house. I live about 48 miles from the broadcast area, It was advertised as a 100 mile antenna., no chance of that, I suspect it will be fine when I add a preamp to it. | ||
