Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| After having lost power for days during tornados last april, I purchased this antenna on good reviews for such adverse times when cable service was out. Recently, a second power loss due to weather occurred and after actually installing this highly rated antenna, I found that I actually received better signals from the local stations on a single stick rabbit-ear antenna provided with old televisions, than on the new high tech winegard. Not to say that it doesnt work, but I can say that it doesnt work any better than the cheap antenna. I was able to pick up a couple of very distant stations (90 miles), but there were a couple of local stations that it wouldnt receive. | ||

| Purchased this antenna after reading the reviews on here, and I must say this unit works exceptionally well. Most of the main stations are 12 or so miles away, with a few even farther, and I pick those up as well. I plan on mounting it to the rooftop once the weather is agreeable. In the meantime I first tried it out by connecting it to the tv placing it on the floor next to the tv, and it picked up most of the main channels, and a few others. I then took it up to the attic, and hooked it up to my existing coax that used to supply the Uverse I cancelled, and it picked up even more channels. My guess is once I get it mounted to the roof, Ill gain another handful of channels! Im quite happy with this unit, and would recommend it to anyone else. | ||

| You jokers rating an antenna who live within fifteen miles of TV transmitters would do well to know that you ought to be able to pick up all the signals in this short range on a coathanger or similar! In other words, ANY piece of wire approaching a dipole and mounted high outside would do as well at this distance! But, for those who MUST have a storebought antenna, I suppose this one will do as well as any. And, a circular formed \loop\ antenna such as this does work very well for omni directional performance. So spends your money and takes your choice. | ||

| After reading a lot of reviews on this site and other sites and researching what antenna would be the best fit, I finally purchased the Wineguard MS-1000. I installed this antenna on my rooftop and I get around 18 channels in the south-side Lexington, KY area. I even get orange level channels in clear reception being broadcast from around 70 miles away! Occasionally channel quality degrades during electrical storms, but I think that is normal behavior for any HDTV antenna. All channels come in clear. I\m not sure about quality with VHF frequencies because all of the channels in my area are broadcasting in UHF. The MS-1000 is a highly recommended buy for anyone wanting an amplified omni-directional antenna with a longer range. | ||

| After reading a review that another OC resident wrote, I confidently purchased the Winegard MS-1000 (Non-Amplified version) on-line. I am getting lots and lots of crystal clear HD channels now. I\m receiving channels I could not get with any amplified indoor antennas. The installation was easy. Home Depot has masts for sale and with a little bit of drilling, the antenna was up and in operation in no time. I cannot stress how good the signals come in now!! I have recommended this antenna to my neighbor and friends. Thanks to the previous reviews, I was able to make a great decision to go with this antenna! | ||
