Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.

We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.

Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

This antenna was working well until a wind storm broke off the entire UHF section. Anyone that knows who can sell a replacement part or suggest a fix e-mail me rufuss@frontiernet.net

Winegard HD8200P Review #2
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: ter-ter Date: 2009-01-06
Summary: Impressive
Replaced my old antenna, a Radio Shack best at the time, with the Winegard 8200. Was easy to assemble and with the help of my son, not too hard to put on roof. I immediately received excellent reception, whereas before I did not. The old radio Shack antenna was close to 20 years old and beat up pretty bad by several hail storms. I am now 100% ready for the digital transfer coming in February '09. I am about 50 miles from the broadcast towers with some hills in my area. I highly suggest this model for anyone in a fringe area.

Winegard HD8200P Review #3
Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: Rochmndx Date: 2008-02-09
Summary: Good long range U/V antenna
Winegard antennas are Extremely durable and well built. A local antenna firm (G & S Antenna of Byron) installs theses, and they work great, even 75 mi from stations. While the VHF gain is more than adequate for fringe locations, the UHF gain is better than average. It's higher than, say, a Radio Shack or Channel Master design, but can't touch an Antennas Direct 91XG or Channel Master 4228. On thing to consider: I've seen hundreds of these installed. Every once in a while, the whole UHF director section will break off. Probably because of heavy ice loads or something.

Winegard HD8200P Review #4
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: Tigerbangs Date: 2007-03-06
Summary: A top-of-the-line antenna for use in deepest-fringe areas
The HD-8200 is Winegard's best and most powerful all-channel antenna. It should be used in areas from 35-65+ miles from the transmitters. It boasts excellent construction quality, and the best signal-pulling ability of all of of Winegard's all-channel antennas. It should be used with a low-noise preamplifier in weak-signal areas, and will need a rotator in areas where TV transmitters lie in different directions from the user.
