| I live more than 50 miles from NYC and needed a top perfomer, and this antenna does very well with the VHF band, but not so well with UHF stations. The Yagi style front UHF part of the antenna has a crimp that reduces the size of the boom, and then it slides into the VHF part of the antenna. This crimp makes that part very weak, and with a little snow this part bent under not too much snow the first winter the antenna was up. I\m disappointed in the design of this antenna, but it does perform well. A home made support now hopefully will keep this antenna working for years to come. |

| I have the HBU-44 made by Antenna Craft which is Winegards back door company(Same Company Same Address & Zip But Different Name) anyways the Antenna Craft HBU-44 is a carbon copy of Winegards HD7698P and alls I can say is its nothing but a piece of SCRAP. What they have tried to do is make a super long range UHF/VHF antenna but in order to ship it they have designed this antenna with 6 of the largest/longest VHF pickups cut in half so it can be fit in a smaller shipping box then when you unpack it you put them back together using cheap plastic connecting clips which results in significant VHF signal loss. I live 35 miles from the VHF/UHF broadcasting towers and the UHF channels come in great but the VHF is poor to non Existent with this antenna, spent the extra money and buy an antenna that isn\t designed like this, or at least one that doesnt snap tpgether like Legos |

| I started out with slightly smaller yagi type antennas. Finally I upgraded to the 14 foot long 7698P. Wow. What a difference.
I only live 14 miles from the towers but was having lots of trouble picking up stable signals. I suppose it\s due to the rolling hills and many trees by my house. But the 7698p made stable channels. Although, I plan on raising the antenna from 5 feet to 10 feet over the roof for a little fine tuning.
I was especially grateful that my wife did not get upset since I switched from a 7.5 foot long to a 14 foot long antenna. But since the new high vhf and uhf antenna has short elements, it doesn\t look big at all when on the roof. |

| Great product! Before my channels were coming in and out, now I get more channels and the reception is excellent. I would definitely recommend it. My husband did not think it was going to work but I could not get him away from the TV while I was checking channels after installing this antenna. |

| I did some homework prior to purchasing this model. I live a bit over 50 air miles from the broadcasting towers that cover the Tulsa, NE OK market area. Two stations are currently doing digital on the VHF Hi channels with another to switch from UHF when analog is finally dropped. All the rest are or will be staying on UHF. I receive all the stations but one at 90 or better. The one station weaker at approx. 70 is running low power on VHF channel 10 to avoid interfering with another station running analog on the same channel. They will increase power after the changeover. The antenna is mounted above the roof peak at 25 ft. with NO pre-amp. Excellent crystal clear digital reception on this antenna when the satellite dish users loose reception due to heavy rain or storm clouds. I could not find a higher gain, longer boom antenna for VHF-HI/UHF for deep fringe reception, and there was no need for getting a longer element (VHF-Low 2-6), since none of our stations will be broadcasting there. This antenna is a winner. |
