Summary: LARGE AND LONG,GREAT PRODUCT
Great hd reception from sacramento stations(20) I havent tried to get stations from san francisco, but I am sure that I could, but all the major stations are comming in from sac. This is a very good and large ant, I must say spend the money now to receive great hd tv for free off air,YOU DONT NEED CABLE OR DISH. Winegard has a good product line stay with the pros. Easy to put together if you take your time AND READ INSTRUTIONS. Installed on a 10 foot 1.5 inch elec cond, worked good, but make sure to hold down this antenna the wind could take this 131 inch wing for a ride. Where I live is out in the country,and trees are all around,this antenna has no problems pulling in a good signal.

Summary: Big, really big
We put this into the attic. It is a really big antenna. The one that we were replacing was about 6+ feet long. This is about twice the size. Fit and finish are suboptimal and the assembly is no small matter. It is hard to make the element fold back in to get around an obstacle. Be careful not to have the wires on the outside touch the main mast. Once we got it up there, adjusted it and corrected the issues like having a wire bent, it got a great picture. Hire the installer if this antenna is necessary. It is a monster to handle.

Summary: Excellent Directional Antenna picks up weak stations
When the All-digital broadcast period began, I could only get 1 station with 3 sub-channels with an indoor Terk antenna. I connected up to my old rooftop antenna and managed to pick up 17 sub-channels. As I trimmed nearby tree branches away along the signal path to the D.C. transmitters, the count of sub-channels increased to 32, but Baltimore stations still came in poorly. Convinced that a rooftop antenna would work for me, I selected the Winegard 7697P because it was sensitive, I did not need VHF low-band, and it was the biggest antenna I thought 1 hobbyist alone on a roof could handle. Assembly was fairly easy, but use 2 people or you may need to straighten a bent vane or two, like I did. I put it on a 5 ft mast attached to a tripod antenna mounted into the roof joists. I have a 30 foot quad coax RG-6 run to an HDA-200 distribution amplifier, next a 4-way splitter and then a 35 foot cable run to our bedroom TV. I aimed it at the furthest stations in VA, and get those through the tall trees in our neighborhood. All DC stations come in easily, and best of all, I get all of the Baltimore stations in my TVFool \Green\ zone without needing to use a rotor. The total count of digital sub-channels is now 47! Great antenna!

Summary: Better than expected
I am in a fringe area (blue zone), not suburban to a large city. Satellite tv is my only pay option. I did my research and talked to neighbors who were getting 5-6 channels with boosters and rotors. I temporarily erected this on a tripod just on my deck with a 10 foot mast (Because of snow on the roof). I paired this antenna with the Tivax T-8 converter box. Wow, Am now getting 6 channels a 100% and 4 at 70% I am not including the repeat channels, I havent even touched the antenna direction yet. Years ago I installed a big Radioshack antenna and was very disapointed as it never worked. I will be cancelling my pay tv very soon. This was the right system for me. I recommend this Winegard and Amazon.

Summary: Great antenna with good multipath rejection
I installed this antenna on my roof and was getting a worst signal than my two bay UHF indoor antenna. After doing some brain storming I discovered the pins on the box where you screw the cable in wasn't making contact. So I bent them in a little and snapped it back in. I came back in and was getting 90 - 100% on all the Houston stations, plus I was able to pick up a low powered station I could never get before. If you need an antenna particularly to get better VHF hi 7-13 reception this is it. Our channel 2 station is still broadcasting an analog signal with upgrade info and it even pulls that in pretty good. I hooked it up to my FM stereo and get all, but one station that broadcast in the opposite direction. I also can't get a station out of College Station that I could get before, but only because it faces the opposite of where the antenna is pointing. This means it has very good multipath rejection which you need if you have lots of tree or tall buildings around. In the old days you would see multipathing as ghosting and it still affects DTV signals by causing pixilation. If you need to get station in many different directions you may need a rotor with this one. Also I found that my amp I was using before made the signal lower. So you might want to keep that in mind.
