Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.

We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.

Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

Winegard HD7696P Review #0
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: gpoen1 Date: 2009-04-06
Summary: THE "5" RATING SAYS IT ALL
I have nothing but praise for this antenna. It's built like all the other Winegard Chromestar antennas; very rugged. All the elements snapped into place firmly. I installed it on a 40' tower and used a Channel Master 0064 preamp that I had previously. It was a perfect match since the antenna has a snap-on balun and the preamp is 75 ohm input and output. Performance-wize it was a home run! It captures everything within a 70 mile radius. It's been over 6 months since I installed it and I have no regrets.

Summary: ***CORRECTION***
I must make 1 correction. The preamp I used with this installation was a Channel Master 0068, not a 0064. The difference is that the 0064 has 300 ohm inputs (for twin-lead) and the 0068 has 75 ohm inputs (for coaxial cable). I don't want to misslead anyone.
