Summary: Don\t waste your money
I paid $ 55.00 for this Antenna, it is not worth it. Every station you have to get up and adjust, some stations never come in at all. And if you plan on using a microwave in the house or a computer in another room, the signal will block out the one from the antenna and you will have no tv to watch, what a joke. Best Buy won\t even take it back, they want to charge me a restocking fee. That is when you know you bought a piece of crap. Now I purchase an Attenna for $10.00, a friend said would work, I tried it & it does come in clear, I was shocked, only thing fox channel does not come in at all, but I will live with it.

Summary: Ok, but looking for better
I have a Samsung HDTV with HS Tuner and signal amplifier built in but it still needs the external antenna. The Terk does pick up all but a few in my area. The antenna does need to be turned to tune into a handful of stations. I hate that every time a car drives by, the signal drops. ..looking for a better model.. I did my research over a year ago and this was supposed to be one of the best. I hope thats not the case because it doesnt impress.

Terk TV-5 Review #2
Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: Jim Kirk Date: 2009-02-08
Summary: OK for DTV on lower level of house
I use the Terk5 on an old RCA (with a manual tuner) on low level of a spilt level house. With traditional rabbit ears it was a DTV disaster; it was unable to maintain acceptable reception of any channel for a period of one minute. With the Terk5 I am able to watch several channels. The VHF channels come in best and antenna rotation is often required.

Terk TV-5 Review #3
Rating: 2 (poor) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2009-01-29
Summary: Can get better for your money
Bought & tried the Terk TV5 based on reviews here. Pros: better than my old Magnavox Rabbit ears Cons: *the "low profiel design" is great if it'll be sitting in a TV cabinet with space; however, the wings still need to be rotated and fiddled with to get the picture to come in clearly and this then requires a 12+ in. clearance all around the unit - a luxury, I did not have. *took a lot of fiddling to get the picture clear and then other stations disappeared. *coax cable is built-in with this unit and you can only get longer than 6 ft reach if you use a connector (cumbersome) I am about to return it and have just gotten a Philips (SDV2750/27) which I am much happier with.

Terk TV-5 Review #4
Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2009-01-21
Summary: good, but not as good as the HDTVa
I compared the DTV signal strength of a Terk HDTVa and a Terk TV5 by averaging the signal strength of 8 stations and then repeating the same test the next day. The HDTVa averaged a 12% stronger signal than the TV5. Not only that, the HDTVa was more consistent, with an 87% average one day and 90% average the next day. The TV5 averaged 81% the first day and 74% the second day. There were also several stations that the HDTVa could reliably acquire, but the TV5 couldn't. I also found that the HDTVa was less directional (and therefore easier to point) than the TV5. One thing I preferred about the TV5 was that that you point it by just rotating the dual loops. The TV5 also had better balance than the HDTVa. The bottom line is that the TV5 is a very good antenna and the second best indoor antenna I've ever used. But the HDTVa is better.
