Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| Summary: Works fine if... | ||
| Got the Terk TV-44 after deciding to switch from DirecTV to Dish (TiVo finally bit the dust and DirecTV does not have good DVRs...). Anyway, using the cable to my defunct DirecTV antenna, I hooked up to my 58" plasma TV... and got almost no signal. It occurred to me that the Terk TV-44 gets it's power from the coax that nominally powers the LNB on the satellite dish, so I plugged the indoor antenna back in and waited for Dish to show up for installation. Once the new Dish satellite antenna was up and running, reception jumped from 20% to 60% signal strength. After adjusting the attachment of the TV-44 to the dish, my signal strength is 99% to 76%, depending on the channel. Could probably tweak the placement to get a bit better reception, but I am quite pleased with the improvement over the amplified indoor antenna I was using. Paid on $50 at Fry's too... | ||

| Summary: Very good for receiving HDTV | ||
| To use it by itself is going to be a dissapointment, it has to be connected to your satellite receiver, because it uses the power source, ~12 -15 volts dc, to power it's internal amplifier. If you try to use it by itself it won't work. However if you want to spend a little more and by an in-line dc power supply, ~$15, you can use it as a stand alone antenna, and it will not dissapoint. | ||

| Summary: Wokrs very good | ||
| Very Easy to install. I have Dishnetwork 500 and it took less than a half hour to install. At first the stations did not come in very well, so the next day I went back on the roof and followed the fine tuning adjustments (by moving the antenna around the circumference of the dish) until the picture quality got better. I now receive more channels than with the indoor rabbit ears. The price is a little expensive, but I'm very happy with the performance. My dish has an unobstructed field in the suburbs. For those that claimed poor performance with the Terk 44, I hope you performed the fine tuning adjustment before condemning the product. | ||

| Summary: Came quickly | ||
| I'm afraid I haven't got around to putting the antenna up because it's been brutally hot. Summer in Texas. But I expect it to work fine. I have another one up and running and it's pulling in all the local HDTV quite well. | ||
