Summary: Works sometimes
Have this in a kitchen bay window. It works sometimes. I do have to move it/turn it for each channel. IF the weather is clear it gets most channels. If the weather is rain, or fog it really doesn\twork well at all. It picks up the ABC, CBS channels that have their towers about20-25 miles away...But the NBC channel tower is 38 miles away and that signal breaks up allot! It worked well on an old analog TV, but when we hooked it up to a new Coby TFTV1923 with a truner inside...it would not work at all. Scanned for channels and got 1 channel only.

Summary: IT WORKS!!
Recently bought a small digital tv for kitchen, however the included mono-pole antenna was useless. I tried another antenna I had ( RCA amplified HDTV ) & that one could not pull in local ABC-channel 6 which is normally one of the strongest signals. Anyway, I read the reviews on the Terk TV-1 & thought what the heck...give it a try. I didn\t expect much from a $10.00 antenna, but was I surprised. Took it out of the box & had it connected in couple minutes & did the auto scan & WOW ...I was able to pick up about 30 stations! Our channel 6 (ABC) came in crystal clear. So far, I have been able to switch stations with very little antenna adjustment( sometimes moving only an inch or two). I plan to buy another one for my larger HDTV.

Summary: BEYOND EXPECTATIONS
I am tempted to take this antenna apart to see what sort of passive circuit they have hidden that makes it so good. I simply hooked it up directly to the converter box and received each channel in my area clear and concise. I used several other amplified antennas and was only able to pick up half of the channels and of those that I did some had a tendency to periodically break up. Pros: Easy hook up, simplicity, low cost. Cons: None

Terk TV-1 Review #3
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: Ron G Date: 2008-06-14
Summary: This is definitly a good deal
I was skeptical like everybody else that this antenna was any good for $10, but Terk makes good antennas. And for $10, what do I have to lose? It it did not work, I just get my money back. I had tried 2 other antennas including an RCA and another Terk TV-5. This Terk TV-1 beat them all out! It looks like your standard rabbit ears, but for whatever reason, it works the best. Most of the stations I get come in very good. I get 27 channels, and stations that were terrible with the other antennas came in crystal clear. Occaisionally there was a problem, but friends of mine tell me it is police and fire radios that are causing the interference or loss of bits. But this is a great all around antenna, especially for the price!

Terk TV-1 Review #4
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2008-02-01
Summary: Skeptical when I saw it, but it works surprisingly well
My current antenna had trouble with 1 particular HD station so I wanted one that would fix that, but I didn't want an amplified antenna if I could help it. My HD stations are all UHF according to antennaweb, so I was skeptical about this because it only mentioned that UHF loop was included but not shown in the picture. The antenna and UHF loop were created for ancient TVs. (What TV made in the last 10 years has a 2 screw connection for antenna and UHF loop??) The included connector allows connection to coax, but the UHF loop requires the screw connection on the TV. I thought I was out of luck, but I tried it anyway. With the right orientation it got a great signal on that one station and even did better on the lone SD channel that I was using (UHF also). It's definitely worth the $10.
