Summary: Works better than I could have imagined!
We've used this antenna for about a month now with our hdtv. (We don't want to pay for cable.) We live 22-25 mi from the transmission towers for our local stations. Because it is winter, we have not yet installed the antenna outdoors. It is just setting behind our tv set. INDOORS we receive all of the channels flawlessly. What more could a person ask for? Compact design, great reception. I'm thrilled!

Summary: Excelent
Review #2 See this... I get great reception. Like the others it is tricky. You should plan on playing for a while to get the best reception out of this. Change the sides of your house, in the attic, on a wall, near the chimney, away from the chimney, different angles, etc. All but one of my channels are about equally split 180 degrees apart. One of the stations must have a lower power so I point at that and I get all the channels including the one which is over 50 miles away and 90 degrees from the other two (I have no idea how). I also noticed that it must work on reflections as well. The person who gets his reception lying flat in the attic I would say is probably using his roof like a big dish :) For me I moved it to the highest point on my roof with line of sight and angled directly at the north antenna cluster with the low power station, the others stations are pointed at the back by virtue of their location but truthfully I could tune the south antenna cluster with the antenna anywhere including inside. Truly amazing.

Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: Louis Date: 2007-08-31
Summary: Great for most channels but the uni-directional feature hinders contunuous reception
My HDTVs was installed one year ago on my roof by my son, the electrical engineer on vacation. Unfortunately for us, one station is about 120 degrees from the bulk of all the other stations, which he knew about before buying the antenna. Consequently, we use a two antennas to capture all channels, the TERK and the indoor rabbit ears. And its a lot of work switching antennas on the TV, then redirecting the rabbit ears to the best reception. The TERK is like having cable when it is pointing to any station--perfect reception. I am going to ask my son if he can get me a manual directonal finder/pointer so we can use the TERK continuously. All of the TV station antennas are within 10 miles from my house.

Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2007-07-30
Summary: Extremely Pleased
Hi, I read many reviews here (and elsewhere) and then did my best to decide on an affordable and useable antenna to receive OTA. I settled on the Terk HDTVs after discussing it with sales from Affordablehdtv. I wasn't decided, but bought this knowing that I could return it for a small restocking fee. Anyway, I am using this a Channel Master 7777 preamp, and the USB Hauppauge 950 to act as the ATSC receiver. I am a considerable distance from the stations (50-100) miles while the closer stations are behind a mountain (20 miles approximately). Well much to my surprise, I get CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS-Platsburg, PBS-Vermont and both the canadian HD CBC's (french and english). All signals are 70-90% and don't suffer from dropouts (so far). I am extremely pleased with the results. Incidentally, the close and far towers are about 70 degrees between the two so I have the antenna basically pointing exactly down the middle between the two. Good for Terk, cause this one works great FOR ME.

Terk HDTVs Review #4
Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: Miami Guy Date: 2007-06-08
Summary: Have patience..........
When I first plug this thing in.. I actually lost reception! 41% on channel 7.1 and like 50% on channel 10 my strongest channel. I was about to get rid of this when I decided to try out some un-orthodox methods of installation. I went up into my crawl space/ attic and started playing with locations and angles.. ((please refer to antennaweb.org for GREAT help on aiming this thing..)) I immediately saw a good increase in signal strength.. I finally ended up laying this thing flat on a 2x4 stud in the attic. This thing is pointing straight up instead of pointed toward the station antennas.. now I have 89% on channel 7.1 and 98% on channel 10... All my HD channels are over 80% I can't say the same for my analog channels... but who needs them anyway with this GREAT HD reception?! o2accord@aol.com
