Summary: Super antenna
HDTVlp is probably the best indoor antenna out there. I've bought it to replace a lousy Terk HDTVi antenna which was absolutely useless for me and the difference was amazing. All high definition channels on UHF are coming in great quality. With HDTVlp I couldn't pick up one of the HD channels which is in blue code area, but I doubt picking blue channles is at all possible with an indoor antenna. This antenna looks very much like a winegard ss 3000. I don't know whether the two antennas are identical, I've chosen Terk HDTVlp from Amazon cause it was cheaper and had good reviews. Very satisfied so far.

Summary: It's an INDOOR directional antenna, dummy!
I got a new LCD HDTV for a bedroom on 2006 Black Friday. Hooked it up to a standard Comcast cable feed and received some HD, some digital and all analog signals. I am a subscriber to Comcast Digital Standard service. According to the Comcast website, local HDTV signals are provided as part of Comcast basic cable service. Some of the Comcast HD signals were pixilated, or garbled. Some posts on-line suggest this is because of signal compression by the cable operator. So I hooked a Phillips non-amplified rabbit ears up and was amazed that I received on-air HDTV stations. I researched the Internet including this website, and purchased a Terk HDTVlp antenna from Beach Camera. Standard shipping had the antenna in my hands in two days. I also went on the Internet and downloaded my station direction map from www.antennaweb.org BE PATIENT! THIS IS AN INDOOR ANTENNA! You will need to experiment with location and direction. My hoped for location was 90 degrees from the direction that the station map told me. Reception in my "hoped for location" sucked. I turned the antenna to face the direction suggested on the station map, and VOILA! The HDTV signals from my VHF channels were better than the Comcast feed, although the analog signals were spotty. The HDTV signals and the analog signals from the UHF channels were crisp. A dipole antenna would probably work better for analog VHF, but with the HDTV feeds, who cares? I'm going to need to build a new shelf in my bedroom closet to locate the Terk HDTVlp at the right direction. But the reward is crisp, non-pixilated HDTV signals on all local (Philly) stations, and the bonus of digital stations from Allentown. I also suggest that once you establish a good antenna location, to do on-air channel search several times. I seemed to pick up several more stations after I found the best location. I've installed an A-B switch to alternate between on-air and cable signals. When the cable goes flakey on HDTV during a football game, the Terk HDTVlp pulls in the signal.

Summary: piece of garbage
i paid 100.00 for this antenna, and ended up throwing it in the trash, this antenna wouldn't pick up anything barely recieved about 4 stations. don't know about hdtv, because i used it for analog stations, which it says it works for also. reception was terrible you would have to constantly move antenna to get anything clean, my suggestion don't waste your time and money.

Terk HDTVlp Review #3
Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: aspen0 Date: 2006-03-24
Summary: works great
best antenna I've used. I have a huge flying wing one up in the attic (like 6 feet wide), it didn't work well. I've tried the little triangular HDTV antennas (the $20-$30 ones), they didn't work well. This though, it gets all our HDTV channels in with great clarity and it's smaller than it looks too.

SDTV reception is spotty, but who cares?

Terk HDTVlp Review #4
Rating: 2 (poor) Nickname: rikrak94 Date: 2006-12-12
Summary: Fuzzy Dice
Possible that I just ask too much but this worked very poorly for me. I live in West St.Louis County and I never did get decent reception of regular TV so I used basic cable. I just got an HDTV and do have an up-converting DVD player (great picture) hooked in my excisting cable (decent picture) and before I went to a fancy satelite I thought I would try this Antenna. First it arrived with a minor flaw in that the plastic case was not glued well and there was a small gap in the wing, not a big deal but a flaw. It's possible should I try to return it this would/could be construed as that I had dropped it. I guess I'm some distance from the tower (between 10 and 15 miles)and although I could pick up the local channels, the only one that had a decent picture was the PBS Channel. So for all intents and purpose this was just a waste of $40 for me. I guess if one is closer to the broadcast tower but for where I place this antenna it just don't work "well" for me. In general all I can say is that the picture was poor so the review is poor so I guess when they install the Satelite I'll just buck up the extra $5 for my local channels. From other reviewers it seems like it works if you are closer to the towers but from my point of view, or reception it's rates only 2 stars tops.
