Summary: OK when it works
I too live in Toronto but further away from the tower. Not that far. Anyhow it worked at first, then gave us pixels which we attributed to weather. We eventually auto tuned the TV and that seemed to solve the problem for four months - then, all of a sudden it just gave up! Thing about these devices is that it is so hard to diagnose the problem. I called the station I like to watch the most (WNED Buffalo/Toronto) and they said mine was the first report. Maybe they are doing something weird near the tower...never know in this town of endless construction. I paid over 60.00 so overall I\d have to give just an OK. Unless you are in a position to place the antenna in fairly unobstructed position reletive to your Tower, it\s not so great. twinkle

Summary: Excellent Antenna for HDTV!!!!!
I live downtown Toronto in highrise condo next to the CN Tower. I purchased this antenna a couple of years ago and I am still amazed at how incredible the HDTV reception is, and TOTALLY FREE!!!! I have read reviews of people having issues with the antenna tippig over, well, once you have in place, this should not be a problem. My antenna is pointed directly at the CN Tower, which of course allows for the incredible signal and reception. Why would anyone pay their local cable company obscene amounts of money for HDTV signal and channels???? I have heard this antenna is difficult to find now, if you can find one, run, dont walk and buy one today!!!!

Rating: 1 (very poor) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2010-04-15
Summary: Terrible Design, Mediocre Performance
This antenna is made to break. Where to start? The cable runs through the bottom of the device - yes, you\re reading correctly. It has a ridge for the coax to run but since it\s bent, it is so simple for the cable to knock over the antenna on its side and break the metal antennas. Next, the cable from the back of the antenna is about 4-5 feet long at best. If your HDTV is a 50\ then you\re talking about using the majority of the wire just to get to one side of the TV set. I can\t see any other way but to buy a extension coax cable and an adapter in order to get the antenna positioned where you need it. I haven\t found it very good at picking up even most local stations. Those that do come in usually have pixelation or stuttering just like other people have mentioned. This antenna is not worth the money and you\re better off getting anything else.

Rating: 1 (very poor) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2010-03-03
Summary: Waste of money
I\m 8.2 miles from towers and get nothing. Instructions say that if I am in a stucco home to put antenna near a window. That would be great if there was one. The cord just barely reaches from my ant input to top of set. It also says antenna will not work unless plugged in to wall, even if amplifier is off??? I guess I\m supposed to punch a hole in the wall. In the short time I had it before cconsigning it to the garage, it fell over twice. Hope you have better luck than I did.

Summary: Signals come and go
We have this installed on an upstairs sunporch with clear \views\ to the west/northwest. We are in a rowhouse, in a densely packed neighborhood, so an outdoor antenna would be better, but this is what we have. Signals are affected by weather, by metro buses or trucks driving by, and by helicopters. When the signals are strong, the picture is excellent. When the signals are iffy, we get a lot of pauses and pixels. We\re shopping for a better solution and will likely move to an outdoor antenna, though we\re experimenting with internet-based TV as well. We DO use Comcast for internet, and they provide what they promise - fast, dependable, brilliant. Seems inevitable that the two technologies will merge soon enough.
