Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| Go some stations on & off-after falling over several times due to insubstantial base got another antenna (Winegard 3000) with much better reception & more channels. Had to move around to get weak signals. Due to what must be local changes started off getting most broadcast channels including PBS but later only got several real good & couple others so-so. Individual location specifics appear to be a major factor in performance. I guess was OK for what I paid for it, but as I indicated the Winegard gave much better reception with more channels, so I am glad I stepped up from the Terk HDTVa to get Winegard from Amazon | ||

| First off all antennas pick up digital. Most of the t.v. stations moved to the UHF band during the switch even tho they still use thier VHF channel numbers. In Chicago ONE station stayed in the VHF band but moved to the top of the band. Also all stations do not broadcast from the smae tower site so adjustments WILL be nesassary. That being said, this antenna has worked better than an RCA antenna that claimed higher gain. And then there is gain. If you look at the numbers most are listed as negative numbers so in fact a -12 db antenna receives better than a -20 db antenna. Now, because one station in the Chicago area is still in the VHF band the DIPOLES on the antenna are needed to catch the lower frequency signals. As for manufacturers, RCA, Phillips, Audiovox, and TERK are all made by AUDIOVOX (read the boxes) and just different names are put on them. The other manufacturer of antennas is Winegard. | ||

| Summary: Must play with it and find that proper location for the antenna. | ||
| I have had this antenna for quite some time now and I can say I get Good reception with it. I have it in the next room near the wall, but it was the best option for me. I pick up both markets OTA (I live between 2 cities.) This is a good indoor antenna in my opinion. But saying that you will have to play with it for quite some time to find the correct placement for it (at least I had to.) But now it works at good as I would expect. I have turned it and gotten channels that would take me over an hour to drive to. That are way outta my market. Just have to turn it and find that proper spot is the biggest pain. Would be nice if it had a strong amp in my opinion also but I am happy with it. | ||

| Summary: Surprisingly good reception with low signal strength. | ||
| Dropped cable and picked up the Terk based on what I read here. Immediately picked up the towers within 12 miles regardless of antenna orientation. It took a bit of fiddling, but with good placement next to a window I can pick up UHF stations approximately 42 miles away. Even then I still have a good deal of play with the direction. I think I need a compass before I can dial in stations that are even farther. I haven\t tried to pick up any VHF channels yet, so I can\t speak to those. My TV is on the ground floor with tall trees and an airport nearby (though the neighborhood is on a hill). My only complaint is the unit\s poor stability: the base is not weighted and the coax cable is stiff enough to lift the unit if you don\t seat it properly. Within minutes of first placing the unit on top of my TV, it fell and bent the UHF element. | ||

| Summary: Good reception for all the local channels | ||
| I bought this so I could get more of the PBS and other broadcast stations not carried by the HD service. My set is a 26\ HD TV and the local channels\ picture looks as good through the antenna as it does through my paid HD service. I live close to the towers which are all clumped together though. I see a bit of difference with the amplification turned on. Nonetheless, it works well without being plugged-in. I do think the base is a little awkward and its shape makes it a difficult item to place, but that was not a big issue for me. | ||
