Summary: Terrible product
I live in an apartment building in Toronto, Canada. I got about 5-6 channels, and only 1 of them is digital. Only that 1 digital channel is watchable, and that only works sometimes. The picture is either quite good or it simply breakup in blocks. All the other non-digital are just so bad. The pictures of those non-digital are snowy. You can to play around with the antennas so much to gain an extremely little improvement. Watching these non-digital channels are not bearable. You would rather turn off the tv altogether. It was a waste of time & money.

Summary: What is everyone complaining about?
My house is a couple (Well, more than a couple) kilometers out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and this antenna works great for me! I can\t pick up Channel 12 (FOX, an American channe at all, but who likes FOX anyway? I am able to pick up all the other channels at great quality, so I don\t understand what everyone else here is complaining about. I truly don\t. I highly recommend this RCA antenna if you live out near farmer\s fields. The only thing I didn\t like is that it is confusing as hell to set the clock.

Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: tom h Date: 2007-02-26
Summary: Pick-ups great signals in the Los Angeles area.
I originally bought the RCA-301 model from Best Buy for about $30 and returned it after a day. I have a Dish Network 622 HD DVR and subscribe to the local channels. But Dish only provides the 4 major networks in HD (not The CW, UPN, etc..) so I decided to add a HD antenna. The RCA-301 only picked up two VHF channels at about 63-68 signal strength (I'm 25 miles from the main towers). After taking it back and upgrading to the RCA-501 I now get all local channel except NBC. I'm sure if I screwed with the antenna angle a little bit I would get that as well. So far the $20 upgrade was worth it, I'm getting signal strength between 78-88.

RCA ANT501 Review #3
Rating: 1 (very poor) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2008-03-06
Summary: Don't waste your money
I got 3 channels with this antenna and 2 had bad signal. I then moved antenna outside and it picked up more channels but not much better signal. I live 18 miles from the stations and this is advertised to work better. I returned this bad antenna to the store. Buy the DB4 outdoor antenna or the DB2 and use inside. You will like these better.

Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2008-02-22
Summary: Hit or Miss (Hit for me)
OTA HD is either a hit or miss. For me this was a huge hit. Great reception and I live about 20 - 35 miles away too. I highly reccomend if you live in Houston. Very fast shipping. A+++
