| Summary: A $4 non amplified indoor antenna outperformed this unit. | ||
| I got this antenna, which turns out to be a re-badged Terk 42, and like the Terk, it just doesn't work well. I saw the bad reviews, but figured since I was only 4 miles from the broadcast towers that I could put just about anything on the roof and get the signal. I had been using a $4 Radio Shack bow tie antenna placed in an upstairs hall. It worked quite well, except when a medivac helicopter passed over head. (I live near a shock Trauma center, so that is quite often.) My hope was that having an antenna on the roof would eliminate the whirly bird issue. Not only did the RCA ANT3900 antenna fail to do that, it also would not reliably pick up any channel, even when the skies were clear of air traffic. It's convenient and easy setup is what lured me into buying it, but alas, it turned out to be a too good to be true situation. | ||
