Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| Summary: GARBAGE, this is NOT a Silver Sensor Model |
| This thing is total garbage, it couldn\t pick up a SINGLE channel. Fiddled with it like mad and it wouldn\t pull in anything. Bought A REAL Philips silver sensor for CHEAPER (The real silver sensor is not amplified) and placed in the exact same spot picked up 5 channels.
This PHDTV3 is some cheaply made knock off which seems to just USE the Philips name because everyone knows that the Philips Silver Sensor rocks (notice the box does not mention anything about Silver Sensor).
Avoid this model at ALL COSTS, some cheap knock off that licensed the Philips name or a bad idea from Philips. |

| Summary: Bringing in only two channels poorly, channels go in and out. Cheaply made. |
| Since we have gone totaly digital this antenna has provided us with extremely poor reception. The unit is cheaply made and the amplifier doesn\t appear to do much. We live in Philadelphia, PA and with analog signal I received CBS, NBC and ABC with no problem. With digital cannot receive ABC at all and receive NBC poorly. CBS signal is the best. Have had antenna since March 2009. Would not recommend for digital. Reception stinks. Using Phillips PHDTV3 in our kitchen with a new Sony HD digital TV. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. |

| Summary: Actually Worked |
| i pointed mine out towards the window on my brand new Samsung. I am located on the eight floor of an apt. The apt. is located in a generally high area. The area does have a large number of tall buildings in a four block area. Regardless, I was able to get about twelve clear channels, four of which have very good HD reception with excellent picture quality. I paid forty for last year's model from Target. If I had to do it over again, I would not have purchased from Target. |

| Summary: Cheaply made and couldn't pull in one channel..... |
Having bought a digital converter in anticipation of the end of analog, I hooked it up with a plain old RCA "bunny ears" antenna. I was able to get about 7 channels after playing around with locations. However, I really wanted to get PBS in and couldn't even get a weak signal, so I bought a Radio Shack amplified antenna and didn't get one channel in--back it went. Then I picked up this Philips PHDTV3 and gave it a try--same thing, not one single channel. It is also very cheaply made. One of the antennae snapped off when I twisted it ever so gently to a different angle.
And the search continues.... |
