Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| Summary: Incredible |
| I bought this awhile back and mounted it on my roof. Its about 40 feet off of the ground. For such a small antenna I am shocked at its incredible performance. I am picking up stations from about 75 miles away over hilly terrain with a lot of man made obstacles. I live in a highly populated city and the antenna performance is better than any of the old style yagis. I am actually looking for a second one so that I can stack them and get the performance of an 8 bay and gather even more signals. Thanks to this antenna, I dropped my satellite/cable tv and am using only Over The Air signals. Why they ever stopped this design, I have no understanding of.

| Summary: Wow |
| I bought this for about $30 to see if I could improve on my ancient Radio Shack VU-190. I mounted it in the attic at a fairly good height pointed at the nearby towers which are 27 miles away. They are all within 10 degrees of each other so placement was simple.
I rescanned and tested all available channels and the CM4221 bested the VU-190 on all except for physical channel 7, where the CM4221 begins to drop off in signal strength, but only by about 5 points.
The average signal was between 80 and 92 for all channels, and the size is absolutely tiny compared to the 12 foot long VU-190, so its much easier to mount. Even though the antenna feeds 5 rooms I didn\t even need a signal amplifier, which is impressive. Its a shame this antenna is discontinued, because it is very rugged beomg made of galvanized steel. If roof mounted it should have no trouble in harsh weather. |

| Summary: Good value for the money, but... |
| Ordered the CM4221 online from Crutchfield, a retailer I've good experience with in the past. The package arrived a week later via UPS in a seriously crushed condition. The cardboard box the antenna came in had nothing in the way of packing or support to prevent the unit from rattling around lose. As I took it out of the box, it was all bent up and one of the plastic insulators was broken in two. Wearing leather gloves, and with the aid of pliers, I straightened it out as best I could, and I mended the broken insulator with a nylon tie and a narrow strip of duct tape. Now the antenna works well and pulls in all my local stations, but it has sort of a "recycled" look, being bent up and all. My wife insisted that I mount it back behind the garage roof, so that the neighbors won't be thinking that we use an antenna I found in some dumpster. |

| Summary: using a 30+ year old cm4221 for HDTV |
| Recovered an old CM4221 (rusty) from an old farm house. Connected to my Digital Stream HDTV set top tunner. Recieving FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and ION stations 60 miles away thru the Endless Mountains of North East PA.
I've tried newer designs with nothing comming near this performance. |
