Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| Summary: A very good long range antenna. | ||
| I use a CM3020 antenna and a CM7777 preamp together and they work great! I am 80 miles south of Chicago and approximately 3 miles west of the Indiana/Illinois state line. The antenna is on top of a tv tower about 25 feet high. I receive all of the Chicago stations shown in red (which means I shouldnt receive them) from the list of possible stations from TVFool, DTV.gov, and others. My signal is consistently in the normal range(50%)or better. While sometimes there are days that I wont receive many at all, I am impressed that I ended up with such good signals. I cannot pick up WBBM however and it is the only channel that I have had a problem with. It appears from the forums that I am not the only one. The 100+ range advertised is legit! OTA signals give me much better picture quality than my cable signals do. My cable company doesnt provide me with Hi-Def channels of my locals which led to my installation of an antenna. | ||

| Summary: Poor Quality | ||
| I purchased the channel master 3020 from Crutchfield . The first one came in a half open box and was broken. Crutchfield replaced it immediately. The next one they sent looked ok till I opened the box and found one of the elements broken. I looked through the box to find the broke off piece and could not find it. So it’s obvious Channel master packaged it that way. I would do business with Crutchfield again but will never buy another Channel master product. Since I had this experience with the antenna I decided to return the amplifier and the rotor I bought | ||

| Summary: Good performing antenna, but disappointed in quality of construction. | ||
| This antenna performs very well, but it certainly isn\t of the structural quality of previous ChannelMaster antennas I\d installed 20 years ago. It\s more or less a do it yourself install antenna. The boom is in 3 sections making a short package capable of being hauled in an auto. I\m pleased with it, but it\s never going to last the 40 years or so that the old CM crossfires etc did. I don\t recommend it for use in areas noted for ice conditions, as a half inch of ice accumulation may break it up. A more rugged antenna for extreme weather conditions would be the more expensive CM crossfire if they\re built as well as they once were. Barring extreme weather, this antenna should last 10 years or so. I first set it up on a 10 foot length of pipe. I received all the Cleveland and Columbus OH stations fine. The stations that were licensed for high power (uhf 600 kw and better were all full strength on the sig meter. Then I installed it on the chimney (30 feet) and lost 2 stations. I\m surrounded by tall trees and the extra height got me blocked by tree limbs. I ended up side mounting it at the 100 foot level of a 200 foot tower about 80 feet in back of the house and that fixed the tree problems. I rent the top of the tower to a 6000 watt fm station, it also has some microwave at the top and a wireless Internet relay just below the fm bays. The preamp is a 15 year old CM and I just opted to use RG6 (200) feet. We can get all the DTV (full power uhf) within a 90 mile radius. The fm transmitter causes some problems with a couple of distant vhf channels, but nearly all DTV has been reasigned to uhf. If you\re getting poor signals with this antenna, understand that it has a very narrow beamwidth so the antenna needs to be aimed very exactly at the transmitter tower. Also, trees, especially long needle pines will stop a uhf signal dead in its tracks. | ||

| Summary: Channel Master Advantage 3020 | ||
| FYI: What antenna to purchase?. I live in West Los Angeles, CA, about 24 miles from the signal towers. I previously installed converter boxes in several rooms where televisions are, and at the same time acquired an hdtv lcd for use on the same antenna. These activities caused some of the channels to lose signal frequently and most of the time channel 13. I have three televisions on one antenna with two splitters. I had a new antenna from work and installed it. It was an RCA from Home Depot with 53 elements and a range of 35 miles. The RCA was horrible. Its model number (ant 3020x)? Is it related to or made by Channel Master? More of the signals were lost with the RCA. I considered, as suggested by an engineer, a uhf/vhf amplifier. I tried one from Radio Shack. Still had signal interruption. I searched online at this website and they provided both an education and guidance. I found my area was in yellow, dark green and red. I looked at the antennas reviewed and went in search. I went to Home Depot, Radio Shack, Best Buy, and Circuit City to look at antennas and amplifiers. Poor selections. I went to Fry’s looked at amplifiers and was not impressed, but I did check out the antennas and found a Channel Master Advantage 3020. Range 60 miles and 100 miles for vhf/uhf. I installed it and have all the channels with no frequency interruption noted, and clean pictures. | ||
