Summary: Good if you have somewhat unobstructed signals
I have just purchased the CM 3010. I previously had two somewhat half broken rabbit ears dipoles, one with loop, in my attic with a mini signal amplifier. I sit very near the US border in Canada, North of NY state. I was getting signals from O degrees to 320 degrees. Some of the digital signals from the US Burlington VT and Plattsburgh NY were sometimes fainting. I am 67 miles from these signals and at 160 degrees refrence. In Canada we still have a predominantly analog broadcast technology around the montreal area. I was getting all analog signals from montreal (25 miles away 15 degrees), some from Sherbrooke (78 miles away, 90 degrees) and some from Cornwall (60 miles away, 270 degrees). 2 of my 3 canadian digital signals were fainting often. I installed the CM 3010 without amplifier 3038 on my roof on a 10 foot pole. Results almost as expected. The 3010 should be understood as a dipole. That is no antenna gain ( when there is no ampli), since it is the reference, with the typical loses perpendicular to orientation. That is you get one front and one back symetrical loops with losses on the side. It is important to understand this. The CM 3010 should have a reception pattern for VHF signals close to the Winegard 2200 ( the 2200 come with an optional directional for UHF reach). The UHF reach of the CM 3010 is more directional, which implies a lost at the back. To diminish this effect, I have added an aluminum AWG #8 loop to the UHF elements. Loops are quasi omnidirectional but offer almost no antenna gain. I did notice a small (probably 2dB) loss at the 45, 135, 225 and 315 degrees, which means you must pay close attention to orientation if you have signals coming from all over the place. My installation, which now works better without an amplifier, offers a 5 to 6 dB gain to my previous installation. Which means that the channels that were borderline are now at a 70% to 90% intensity. So, if you have great signals and just need the 3 to 6 db to get uninterrupted signals, this is a great choice because it is cheap, and does not require a rotor. But remember, it does not offer dB gain unless you purchase the CM 3038 amplifier. In my case going from the attic to the roof added the gain.

Summary: Well worth the value!
I live in Milpitas (South Bay for those who are not familiar with the Bay Area) and had gone through a number of other antenna options until finally settling on the ChannelMaster 3010. Living in the suburbs, and as close as 3 miles from the nearest digital station, I figured basic indoor equipment would provide satisfactory results. My first choice was the Philips SDV2710/27. This is a fairly basic antenna for short range broadcasts. Not satisified, I then picked up the Terk HDTVi. The performance was better, however the signal strength was very low for KTVU and KRON that the broadcasts would occasionally skip, so I upgraded to the amplified version (HDTVa) of the same model antenna. I would\ve stayed with this antenna, however realized there were channels (e.g. KTSF) that I could not pick up without moving the antenna. At this point I came to the conclusion I may need to go bigger and outside the living area if I wanted maintenance-free. I was feeling lazy to go out on the roof last week after receiving the package from Wal-Mart so I attic-mounted the CM3010. A lot more channels! I was pleased, but the signal strength was still in the low 30s for various channels, including some skipping. So, out of the attic and on to the roof this afternoon. Signal strength nearly doubled! This medium-sized antenna worked very nicely for me!

Summary:
we live in 60miles se of Orlando. We have had our stealthtenna for 5 years. With the amplifier, we get awesome reception. A hurricane 3 years ago damaged the antenna but even with 1/2 of the antenna missing, we still get great reception for the channels we do receive. We plan on purchasing a new one in order to enter the digital (hdtv) age and expect to get all of our channels. I highly recommend this with the amplifier (we had poor reception w/o it).

Rating: 1 (very poor) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2008-01-27
Summary: No DTV 19.4 miles from transmitter
I've had this antenna for 3 years and I have never been very satisfied with its performance on the analog stations. I have it mounted on a pole above my roofline, and there are no obstuctions between me and the transmitters. My unit does not have the amplifier... I just bought an HDTV and the thing isn't pulling in a single station (there are at least 10 of them within 20 miles from me). Looking for something else at this point. The Stealthtenna is a piece of junk as far as I'm concerned

ChannelMaster CM3010 Review #4
Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2010-03-22
Summary: Nice Antenna
The antenna works as advertised. I installed it on the edge of my roof rather than in my attic to ensure the best possible reception. It works great without an amplifier.

Installation was difficult because I had to go to the hardware store to get the necessary parts to mount it. (I was expecting a complete kit; it did not include a mounting rod.) I would have had the same issue if I mounted it in my attic. I can't really complain because it cost only $35 with tax and shipping.

Overall, I recommend this antenna to anyone who needs a directional antenna.
