Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.

We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.

Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

Summary: Use as Indoor, work great! 40 miles range
Before I used non-amplified indoor antenna and then change to amplified indoor antenna, I got 2-4 watchable channel. Then, when I got this DB2 I expect much more channels, and after I installed this DB2, attached to my 42\ TV unit(Hang on the back), it seem not work (Get no channel at all). Then I found out that this DB2 need some space in the front, so I decided to place DB2 on the shelf beside my TV(nothing obstruct the front of it). And it\s work so great, I got 48 channels now. FYI: I live in Townhome and my TV is in the first floor, and the DB2 face to my wall and outside has many obstruction(Other homes). 35-40 miles distance from station(Chicago.) The tricks to make this DB2 work well are 1. Give some room in the front of the DB2(more space more signal) 2. You need to face the front of DB2 to where the station are 3. A little hight will help, for mine. I could not imagine how great it would be if install this antenna as Outdoor.(But my association doesn\t allow, so wt_)

Summary: Better than rabbit ears, but barely.
I did all the research and purchased 3 different antennas from this company for 3 separate units. I own the DB2, the DB4 and the DB8 bow tie antennas. While I get reception, most channels are very intermittent on all the antennas. You would think that the DB8 would provide the best signal, but not necessarily, location is far more important. None of the units are amplified, but based on the cost I think these are far too expensive to provide such spotty and intermittent reception. Why shold one have to add hundreds of dollars more to amplify a signal? The DTV revolution has stumbled badly and left many users without reliable television reception still at the mercy of for profit providers. Unreliable HDTV reception. Still need satellite or cable. Too expensive for spotty service. Very dissatisfied.

Summary: Good antenna for the money
I am 40-50 miles from signal sources. With the Terk TV-5 I was receiving 10 channels and I had to move the antenna to get various stations. I could occasionally get the Lansing PBS stations, but conditions had to be PERFECT. PBS came in about 20% of the time. With the Antenna Direct DB-2 ($39 +- from Amazon) and a $35 motorola booster I am getting 16 digital stations. Without the booster I was still getting 2 more channels than the Terk allowed. I could get the PBS about 60% of the time, without booster. I mounted this antenna just outside a window under the eaves of my house. I do not have to move the position of the antenna to get a good signal. Bottom lne: better than the Terk TV-5, $15 cheaper. Add in a signal booster and you should be fine up to 50 miles from signal source (given "flat" terrain). Well worth the money. Direct TV can kiss my....fat wallet. note: this unit does not come with any kind of stand or mount, you will have to make one yourself. It is ugly.

Summary: Great Antenna !
I am in Parker, CO., on the bottom floor of an apartment building, about 28 miles from all the towers. I had a Radio Shack amplified indoor antenna that you had to fiddle with, and never was really very good. More of a placebo. I bought this antenna, without an amplifier, for inside the apartment...stuck it to a piece of 1x2 I use for putting up targets and pointed it in the general direction of the towers. Everything has max signal strength ! No ghosting, no intermittent reception every time I get up and move around the apartment. Fantastic antenna, and cost less than the table top junk I had.
