Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| Summary: C5 works very well for us in the flat | ||
| I am a amateur radio operator and design and build my own antennas. I was a little skeptical of claims from Antennas Direct for the C5. Not any longer. My personal antenna is a Winegard HD 7694P with pre-amp. I had some weather fade at times and aim was critical. I decided to the C5 myself at 35+ miles out, behind a hill, a water tower, trees, upon a 10\ pole. Up went the C5, no pre-amp, Perfect signal. I even took it inside, removed the screen and hung it in a window facing the station. Made it Bi-directional and it lost some gain but it Worked perfectly after pre-amp installed. | ||

| Summary: Excellent improvement to my high VHFchannels | ||
| This unit does what it says it will do. It improved the digital signal strength for my local channels that are transmitting in the high VHF range (9, 11, and 13) from 30% or lower to about 70%. It was easy to assemble and mount. My UHF antenna is from the same maker - model DB-4. It worked very well but the channels in the high VHF needed improvement. In part this was due to lower power output from those channels after the digital conversion. Anyhow, get one if you need improvement in the high VHF. | ||

| Summary: It finally solved my problem! | ||
| I live a mere 10 miles from all the major network towers in Los Angeles, so I originally purchased the Winegard HD7694P believing this would be enough for my needs. However, upon mounting it, I did a serious double-take when I found that I couldn't pull in a single VHF station. Turns out my line of sight to Mt. Wilson was blocked by a series of smaller mountains I hadn't noticed, transforming my once "ideal" location into a fringe reception nightmare.
After experimenting with a series of signal amplifiers and swapping in an Antennas Direct DB4 to solve my UHF woes, I finally broke down and bought this unit to address my lingering VHF inadequacies. I couldn't be more impressed with this antenna. Upon initial installation, I was able to pick up all four of my VHF stations, two of them perfectly. A few minor adjustments to the positioning brought in the other two just as well. I even managed to pull in two extra stations from San Diego, which is 75+ miles to the South. I was also able to get away with mounting this inside the attic, which was a big plus since it is larger and a bit more unsightly than the DB4's I have on the roof. This antenna is fantastically engineered and I would highly recommend it for anyone having difficulty pulling in VHF stations. If this antenna doesn't solve your problem, then I doubt any other product will. The only "con" I found with this item was that there were some obvious grammatical and spelling errors on the outside of the box. Maybe the engineers did the packaging too? |

| Summary: Works in Northern Colorado | ||
| Northern Colorado has been deserted by the main network stations. We originally got a DB8 which works great. However, when the VHF stations lost their second channel on the complete change over to DTV, channels 7 and 9 went back to broadcasting on only VHF....and northern Colorado lost their signal. Channel 7 and 9's reply...gee, we're sorry (yeah, that reply is useless). I also note that [...] stopped saying that we'd get coverage in northern Colorado as well (they used to...I think someone screwed up). Most solutions recommended by antenna sites require an antenna the size of a schooner sail....which doesn't last long in the Colorado wind. Then I found the Clearstream 5. I went with this because the footprint is small (survives Colorado wind), and the range is about 65 miles. In Fort Collins, right up against the foothills, I got channel 7 back and channel 9 a lot of the time (I have a tree that needs to be trimmed and we'll see...9 is right on the hairy edge of signal strength). Also, the CS5 came with a duplex module, so I was able to couple my DB8 and my CS5 together into one converter box. Really, the DB8 may not be necessary now because the UHF channels we're interested in are lower in the UHF spectrum. If you need the full range, I recommend a CS5 coupled with the DB8. | ||

| Summary: At Last I Can Receive VHF Stations | ||
| Last year I dropped our expensive Dish system because I was getting tired of paying over $70.00 a month to watch the same old shows over and over again, so I ordered Winegards HD-7698P UHF/VHF top of the line outdoor antenna ($118.79) which preformed poorly from the day I put it up. I then decided to try the AntennaCraft DB-8 Antenna and low and behold I went from receiving 12 stations to 22 UHF stations but no VHF, so last week I order AntennaCrafts ClearStream-5 long range VHF antenna and with both of them hooked together I'm now receiving 29 (22-UHF 7-VHF) crisp clear channels with 4 of the stations broadcast towers located well over 78 miles away. The 2 above Antennas don't look like much but they do the job. By the way out of all the on line stores that sell off air supplies and antenna's Amazon was still $30.00 cheaper then any of them. | ||
