Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate antennas ranking. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each antenna model. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| Summary: Very directional, looks good |
| The antenna was easy to assemble and mount to the mast. I primed and painted the antenna black, and even though it's large it is hard to see on the roof. The antenna is very directional, and from my location in the suburbs of Washington DC, I receive all DC stations strongly and on a good day I see the Baltimore stations 59 miles away. My location is behind a forest of trees and some hills, so the antenna does not have a direct line of sight to the transmitters. I'm happy that the XG91 with a Channel Master 7777 preamplifier will receive 18 transmitters, with a total of 34 digital stations. |

| Summary: Great UHF antenna with VHF capabilities |
| I've had this antenna for six months now testing the reception capabilties of the antenna. I live about 70-75 miles from the transmitters from stations in Pittsburg and can reliably receive most of the DTV stations that are broadcasted there. I've also been able to get DTV stations in Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, Johnstown, and Altoona all are 80-100+ miles away. As an added bonus the 91xg is able to pick up vhf analog stations WTRF 7(21 mi), WTOV 9(40 mi), WPXI 11(70 mi), and WBOY 12(55 mi). All four stations come in as clear with the 91xg as my old antenna with the big elements. Who ever said this antenna can't pick up VHF Channels must have assumed the 91xg couldn't. Overall I've been impressed with this antenna and highly recommend this antenna if you live in a fringe or deep fringe area like me. |

| Summary: Good deep fringe results |
| I have this about 2 years now and it's holding up well. I'm half way between Howell and Flint, usually get all major networks for Flint and Lansing but Detroit is weaker. Don't have an amp yet, but may try that next. Using the CM 9521 rotor w/ remote. The cable drop splits on the roof (two story) to a second tv upstairs and runs about 100 feet to the downstairs LG-4200a tuner. Also, it appears that only Fox 2 detroit will be on VHF come Feb. so I went with a UHF only. |

| Summary: Exceptional Antenna |
| This is one of the best antennas around for deep fringe viewing when all the stations are in the same direction.
I live in the mountains about 90 miles from the transmitter towers.
I've tried other antennas and could barely get any signal but this one gives me a good to excellent picture on all available UHF analog and digital signals.
I do have a preamp installed on the mast with the antenna.
For those giving this a poor or very poor rating and saying they live 20-30 miles from the station it is because it has too much gain for their location. They are over driving the input to their television.
As an old Air Force radio technician I highly recommend this antenna if you live in fringe to deep fringe areas. |

| Summary: As good as there is for deep fringe, directional UHF picture quality |
| This may not be the best solution for people who have fringe stations in multiple directions who don't want to deal with a rotor, but for those who have all their distant "locals" 50 miles away and in the same direction, this one is as good as it gets.
When I started researching the feasibility of OTA here -- 60 miles from the Austin, TX locals with several ridges between the transmitters and me -- many said not to bother. Or that I would need a very powerful preamp. The "TVFool" results showed that the "Big Six" stations on the Austin transmitters were anywhere from -101 to -108 dBm. In other words, not supposed to be "easy" to get without a lot of height and amplification.
But I was stubborn and tried it. Fortunately in my market all of the stations are located in the same direction -- critical because this antenna is VERY directional with a narrow beam) -- so I moved it around while I had my wife read out the signal strength on the tuner. Once in place, this antenna performed and performed well. Digital signals routinely appear to have 70-90% signal strength from those fringe locals (except for one weaker-power station which comes in around 50% with still a good digital HD picture).
Oh, and did I mention that I get all of that with NO amplification or pre-amps whatsoever?
We have satellite with HD locals now and this was essentially to be a backup when the satellite wasn't receiving due to rain fade (and possibly to use full-time if I decide to become to cheap to pay for TV). But the HD picture quality from locals 60 miles away beats even the improved MPEG-4 that comes via satellite, and blows away the older MPEG-2 compression they used.
My only concern about this antenna moving forward will be its durability. All of the elements are made of (I think) a thin aluminum, and I can see an ice storm or major hail storm potentially causing serious damage to the elements.
This is strictly a UHF antenna (14-69), though it did pick up a fair signal from RF channel 13 as well when I pointed it toward that signal as a test (which is in a different direction and about 40 miles away). I pair this antenna with a Winegard YA-1713 yagi for high VHF (7-13) also pointed in the same direction and 3 feet below the 91XG, and I'm set for anything Austin sends my way from 7-69. Even out here in the boonies.
