AntennaCraft HBU44 Review #0
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: Ben Date: 2011-10-02
Summary:
Transmitter towers are 52 miles away at Mt Wilson. We had old 25 element antenna that was spotty at night. We are all now digital OTA here.So checked RF Channels at www.antennaweb.org, and found our range to be 7-69. Understand that RF Channels do not necessarily equal your local channel number-ex. here CBS is channel 2.1 (RF Channel is 43) Ordered the HBU44, ran 4 coax cables RG6 from antenna to 4 TVs and 1 Computer with Hauppauge HVR950. Two TVs have splitter, one TV has old radioshack amp. The reception is excellent on all of them with this antenna. The splitter reduces the signal strength for two tvs, but not enough to interrupt reception. The TV with amp and the computer pick up over 95 channels, the other TVs get over 85 channels. The antenna is on a 18 1/2 pole. The coax runs from 24 to 50. The instructions for the putting the antenna together are pretty simple when combined with the drawings. I had no trouble. Basic mechanical sense does help though.
