Many areas of the USA are relatively flat, and a zip code will give us enough idea of your reception conditions based on a broad geographic area, however, where terrain is hilly, mountainous or otherwise obstructed from the transmitter's view, we may ask you for our exact coordinates.
This is NOT an invasion of privacy, and if privacy is your concern, feel free to privately e-mail your coordinates to us. Without that specific information, it's not possible to get an accurate idea of what your specific reception conditions are.
If you live in a place like Vermont, West Virginia, Colorado or other hilly areas, a move of even a few feet can make a difference in the quality of your TV reception. When we ask for your specific coordinates, we are trying to zero in on any natural obstructions or advantages that your location offers. Please be willing to offer that information if it is asked.
If you are unaware of how to determine your coordinates, try using Google Earth, or if you have a GPS in your car, it will also pinpoint your actual coordinates.
