I have an Akai 55" projection tv #PT5598HD- Yet it has built in NTSC tuner - should I buy the converter box or a HD-tuner? I currently use an outdoor antenna that's hooked directly into the RF antenna connection on the back of TV for broadcast reception. If I buy the HD-tuner and connect this to the antenna will this override the NTSC tuner in the TV?

If I buy the HD-tuner and connect this to the antenna will this override the NTSC tuner in the TV?

Do not connect it to the antenna jack! You should connect the tuner output to one of the video (not antenna) inputs of your television.
