You may not WANT one, but the best way to solve your issues is with a small antenna mounted on the roof. Since channels 7 and 9 are going back to their VHF channels, so you will need a VHF-high + UHF antenna. In your situation, the best bet is probably a Winegard HD7694P, which is only 5' long, and will do a great job picking up all the stations that are north-north-east of you. Mount it on the roof, and use good RG-6-coax to bring the signal into the house. You'll be amazed at what a simple outdoor antenna will do for you! Aim the antenna in the middle uf the spread of transmitters north of you, and sit back and enjoy all your local stations without tiling and dropouts.
