What type of antenna do I need?

Postby toshiba on Tue Sep 23, 2008 7:03 am

Hi, I live in Queens, NY. It's about 15 miles from the tv tower. Recently, I use a simple rabit ear antenna which can receive most of the major channels. The only problem is that it losts signal once a while. So, what type of antenna would you recommend to my Toshiba LCD TV? Thank YOU.

Right now, all of the NYC digital stations broadcast on UHF, but, on Feb 17, 2009, WABC, WPIX and WNET will go back to their original VHF frequencies for digital broadcasting ( channels 7, 11, and 13) Because of that, you will need both VHF and UHF reception to get all of the major NYC stations. If you can, an outdoor antenna, monted on the roof, is your best bet for glitch-free reception. The Winegard HD-7694P is a small and powerful antenna that will acccomplish the mission without any trouble. If you can't get an antenna outside, then you may be plagued with occasional drouputs and tiling.
