What is the difference between a NTSC and an ATSC tuner?

Postby Pindi on Fri Jun 27, 2008 1:30 pm

I’ve been thinking about getting a new TV, but I’m confused at what the difference between a ATSC and a NTSC tuner is. Can anybody help me out on this without getting too technical?

Thanks cylinder! That makes it a whole lot easier for me. So, in other words I want an ATSC tuner in my new TV so I don't have to worry about the digital transition?

yup

or, if you want to continue to watch analog signals until the transition, there are such sets that have an integrated ATSC/NTSC tuner.
