What is best for 48371?

Postby bkraska on Sun Jan 25, 2009 7:01 pm

Hi,

Just got rid of the Satelite dish and I am considering a DB4 from Antennas Direct since most of my stations appear to be 175 degrees to 191 degrees and less than 27 miles away. I know a uni-directional on a rotator would be the best solution, but I really want something less obstrusive on the roof. Zip code is 48371 a few tall trees in the front yard, and I am looking to connect two TV's. A Toshiba 42" LCD and an older Toshiba with a Channel Master converter box.

Thanks,

bkraska

If you go with the DB-4, you are not going to see WJBK-DT FOX when it switches to channel 7 on Feb 17. Instead, mount a Winegard HD-7694P on the roof, and use a 2 way 1 gHz of better splitter to your two TV tuners. The HD-7694P will do VHF high-band as well as UHF, and you'll do just fine getting ALL of the Detroit digital stations...

OK, thanks for the reply. I did not realize Fox would be VHF after the transition. Will I need a rotator with the Winegard or do I just need to point it South and tweak it for best overall reception?

All of the Detroit stations lie in the same direction from you, so you wouldn't need a rotator unless you were looking for stations from other cities like Flint....a compass setting of 175-180 degrees should pull everything in for you....
