Westwood and McDowell on BBC shortlist

Lee Westwood and Graeme McDowell have been shortlisted for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Westwood has been a regular discount golf top-ten tournament performer, finishing runner-up in both the Masters and the Open Championship on his way to knocking Tiger Woods off top spot in the world rankings.

He also claimed a second career PGA Tour victory at the St Jude Classic before leading from the front as Europe reclaimed the Ryder Cup taylormade r11 fairway wood from the United States in October.
