Two Antennas

Postby analyze on Sun Mar 14, 2010 9:53 am

I have a Terk HDTVo which is amplified attached to the house 30 feet up directed to the South East-my zip 06776 New Milford CT- heavily wooded area. I am getting ABC, PBS and NBC goes in and out. Not getting VHF -CBS and Fox. I am considering another Terk HDTVO pointed in the North East - then hooking the two antennas with a 2 way splitter 0-900mhz in the basement. I have the Terk with RG6 cable and all the TV's (qty 6) going into a 8-port Bi-Directional Cable TV HDTV Amplifier Splitter Signal Booster with Passive Return Path. Is the second Terk the answer and what is the best way to hook the two Terk's up ? Should I use a 2 way splitter 0-900mhz (if so what splitter do you recommend) which will then hook to the 8-port Bi-Directional Cable TV HDTV Amplifier Splitter Signal Booster in the basement ? Thanks.

I really need your street address to refine the analysis further. Based on where you live, ABC would be coming out of New Haven, and would be your strongest station. The NYC stations are 60+ miles away, and would require a VHF-high-band plus UHF antenna deep-fringe system to see NYC adequately . The Terk HDTVo would definitely be inadequate for your needs, should you be looking for the CT stations or the NYC stations.

Thanks for the quick reply. Beardsley is the street. ABC is coming in the strongest. CT stations would be fine if I could get CBS, Fox and NBC.

The Hartford stations may be a possibility for you, but I ned an exact street address to research the signal strengths in the location: You can PM that information to me if you are reluctant to publish your address in the thread.

I assume you received by address info that I sent you several weeks ago. I would appreciate any recommendations that you might have for an antenna to reach CT stations. Should I connectthe second antenna to my current Terk ? Thanks

No, I never got any street address from you, which is why I have not responded.
