Tailgating antenna help

Postby jjp9619 on Sat Sep 19, 2009 10:56 am

I am going to be tailgaiting at the new Cowboy stadium (76011) and am looking for a compact antenna that will produce HD channels to watch ABC, CBS and Fox. Because this will be portable and not at my house, I am not as picky about picture quality. I am looking for a compact antenna that would be easy to transport and set up but still be perform ok. Any suggestions?

Cowboy's stadium is a clears hot from the Cedar Hill transmitters, and , if you are tailgaiting, you don't need much of an antenna. Are you using this TV set in an RV or in a car? Most RV's have an adequate antenna for your needs. If you need something that you can erect and take down quickly, I would look at car-type antenna that would attach to the roof of your car.
I know that Winegard makes one, but it's large and awkwrd. I also know that Funke from the Netherlands makes terrific car antennas, but they aren't yet imported into North America.

For the time being, I would look at a simpe pair of indoor-antenna type rabbit-ears without an amplifier, like the Terk Model 1 or something comparable. Sit them on the roof of your vehicle, and rotate it as necessary.
