Setup help in Pa

Postby junkyardjedi on Fri Dec 11, 2009 7:40 pm

I am located in Pa zip 17976 but in a low lying area I went to TV fool and saw that there are a few channels I can pickup in the red area The question is what type of setup do I need. I have a standard style roof and was going to mount the pole for the antenna to the side of the dog house on the third floor. I would like to hook it up to two tv's the one downstairs is an HDTV and other will require a add on box but for now my concern is to get the HDTV setup. Aside from the Channel master 7777 preamp that about as far as I have gotten. I have aimed and hooked up quite a few sat's for DN and DTV but never really touched the antennas before. Can some one point me in the right direction as far as a good setup would go..
Regards
Jim

the zip code that you gave me shows pretty weak signals. Can you PM your street address to me and I will see if that info looks better than the generic zip code-TVFool.com report.

Here is the TVFool.com page for your street address:

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapp ... b6da1c9402

The result is actually pretty dismal: only 2 TV stations, both from Scranton-Wilkes-Barre that you have any hope of geting regularly in your location. If you want to proceed, both stations are on VHF, and are very weak. On the of-chance that you can see anything else, I would use a large VHF-high-band plus VHF antenna like a Winegard HD-7698P and a preamplifier like a Winegard AP-8275 or a Channel Master Titan 7777. If you are going that far, include a rotator, like a Channel Master 9521a, because there is also a chance that you may see some Harrisburg stations in your area. Good Luck.
