Request Antenna suggestions for rural Michigan location

Postby pborg on Sun Dec 06, 2009 4:55 pm

I am looking for antenna recommendations for my house in northern Michigan. the latitude is 45.268631 the longitude is -83.489635. There is a 30 foot tv tower at this location.
What antenna combination might get TV reception? Will I need a pre-amp if so what type? What about a rotor?

You have relatively few digital TV stations available in that area, but you do have a few analog Canadian Tv stations, which are analog. I suggest that you use a broadband VHF-UHF atenna like a Winegard HD-8200u or a Channel Master Crossfire 3671 along with a rotator like a Channel master 9521a. You will need a preamplifier, and I would suggest either a Channel Master Titan 7777 or a Winegard AP-8275. Use all new Rg_6u satellite-grade coaxial cable, and you should be equipped to piclup whatever is in the air from your location. Good Luck.

Thanks for the Info. Is the Winegard HD-8200U any better than the Channel Master 3671?
How about the Preamp is either one any better than the other?

You can use the equipment interchangably: it will ALL work well...
