Renters advice for 29403

Postby Slack on Tue Jan 19, 2010 6:26 pm

Hello, great forum.

I'm helping a friend who lives in the top floor of a two story duplex. She is renting and so probably cannot climb on the roof and start mounting antennas. What would be a best case scenario for her as far as an antenna. The zip code reads "yellow", so 17 miles from the transmission towers, small
multi-directional outside antenna. Attic mount? Hang one out the window? Thanks for any advice.

If you can't ge onto the roof, try an attic mounting. The Charleston transmtters all lie about 60 degrees from your location by your compass. I would use a Winegard HD-7694P mounted in the attic aimed at 60 degrees. Don't let any of the elements on the antenna touch any structural members when the antenna is finally installed: you'll do just fine with that combination.
