Recommendations for 75204?

A friend in that area is asking about an external antenna for his 3 story condo. I saw from his zip code that he appears to be an average of 20 miles from the transmitters. He wanted to go with an indoor antenna but I suggested an outdoor would give him better performance.

He is using a Samsung LCD tv. I do not know of any other tvs and he says there are no obstructions.

Which Winegard would you go with?

I won't recommend an indoor antenna because there are too many variables to predict good reception, such as wall construction, distance from the towers, insulation, other structures, etc. In the area that you friend lives, an AntennaCraft HBU-22 should be adequate if you you mount the antenna on the roof and aim the antenna at 210 degrees by your compass.

Thank you for that. I was not familiar with AntennaCraft. You are recommending them over Winegard?

The AntennaCraft HBU-22 is smaller than any of the Winegard HD series VHF-UHF antennas, and will do just fine for you, and it is available from your local Radio Shack store, probably by special order.
