I have 4 3 older tvs with converter boxes, plus an eye-tv connected to my mac. have a hill just behind the house in the direction of most ny stations which are about 35 miles away. other stations are in CT, 180 degrees from the nyc stations. with a couple on long island, in between the others. Need to get both high vhf and uhf stations.

2 story house. I will attache a 10 foot mast to the chimney. Currently I have a 10 year old good size radio shack antenna on a 5 ' mast. I tried to use current antenna and converter boxes in Fe. 09 with poor reception, so have had cable since then, but am giving it up. What is your advice for antenna/amplifier/etc?

my coordinates are 41.034953, 73.572865

Thank you

Here is your TVFool.com report:

NYC reception should be excellent in your location: I suspect that your antenna connections have corroded or the bauln transformer that converts your old antenna from 300 ohm to 75 ohm may have gone bad. When all is said and done, I believe that it is time to replace that antenna and cabling with new equipment, and you should add a distribution amplifier, and possibly a rotator to your antenna system to see all of the TV stations that are available to you.

Yes, sorry, I got cut off last night: get yourself a Winegard HD-7696P and a Channel Master CM3414 4-way distribution-amplifier-splitter. be sure to replace your coaxial cable if it more than 10 years old. If it's too difficult to replace it, at least get all new "F" fittings for the cable. You can receive a number of CT and Long Island stations if you add a rotator like a Channel Master 95121a. Expect that this combination will allow you to see all of your NYC stations without a problem, and , if you add the rotator, you will see the New Haven and some of the Hartford stations, as sell.
