hd recieption from two differant directions

Postby knifer94 on Sun Apr 19, 2009 7:23 pm

for tigerbangs, i have one tv set, a sona hdtv, 1080i, 2008 year. i live in the 29630 zip code. i have four hd stations in one direction in the yellow zone that i pick up great on an old rooftop wineguard antanna. i have one station at about 90 degres from these in the red zone that i can't pick up without turning the antanna and when i do it comes and goes. i want to pick it up all the time without moving the antanna. i don't want a rotor. can i use two antanna to do this or do you think a db8 multidirectional will do what i want. if i use two antanna can i use a directional antanna for the odball stational. i hope this is enough info, but i thought last time was. thanks david

You have a whole slew of stations available to you, but they are scattered over a 120 degree arc: additionally, you will have 3 VHF stations after June 12, channels 7,9, and 13. 7 and 9 are in the same direction, but channel 13, which is ABC, comes from almost due north of you, and is fairly weak. The other stations might be available using a multidirectional antenna but channel 13 won't make it with such an antenna. Having a rotator would make your life SO much easier if you would consider one, otherwise we are talking about multiple antennas on the roof with antenna joiners and considerable complication.

if this was MY installation, I would use a Winegard HD-7696P mounted on the roof with a Channel Master 9521a rotator and a Winegard HDP-269 preamplifier.
