Due to cost i want to switch to antenna TV. In my area code what is the reception? I think I am in a red, green and violet area. What sort of antenna should I consider Omni, Directional , Two directional units, Amplified or not. I am in Kingsport TN 1713 ridgeway dr. How high would I have to place the antenna? Thanks for any answer and additional information you might be abke to give. Any specific antenna recommendations?

You live in an area with some serious hills, and that calls for a high-gain, highly directional antenna mounted on your roof, along with a rotator and a high-input preamplifier. I would look at a Winegard HD-7082P UHF-VHF combination antenna along with a Channel Master 9521a rotator and Winegard HDP-269 preamplifier. Mount the antenna system as high as you can on your roof, and you will see your major TV networks.
