Probably making this harder than it needs to be

Postby redeye on Sat Jan 23, 2010 7:23 pm

Hello all - I'm fed up with Comcast and being extorted for $70 a month for what amounts to a few hundred channels of crap. Subsequently I talked my wife into dumping cable TV and keeping the high speed internet.

My problem is relatively straight forward. I have a Magnavox HDTV (MN: 26MF605W/17) and just purchased a RCA ANT1400 from Best Buy and frustratingly enough the only channels I am receiving with it are in Spanish. I live in Denver (zip 80236) and by my research I should have access to about 20 to 25 channels. What gives? Anyone out there care to enlighten me about what is going on and what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your time and attention.

Regards,
Tom

The antenna that you bought is a completely useless antenna: return it, and consider installing a small VHF-high-band plus UHF antenna on your roof, like a Winegard HD-7694P aimed at 300 degrees where the Denver major transmitters are: everything will come in perfectly if you do: chances are good that you might even be able to mount the antenna in the attic if you can aim the antenna at Lookout Mountain from inside your attic.
