Poor reception In South Carolina

Postby stumped on Fri May 06, 2011 9:11 am

Hi,

I have a winegard hd 7694p antenna mounted about 35 feet above the ground level here in Hilton Head South Carolina. Before I put it up I looked at this site and tried to figure out how I needed to aim the antenna, etc. My problem is that I can receive one station very well, two sort of okay, and one only sometimes. I Have looked at the antennaweb site, AntennaGeoSelector site and also the tvfool website to try to understand what is wrong. Surprisingly, they all give me a little different information, some of it conflicting. I have provided links to those sites below, but here is the crux of the problem.

The NBC station is 3.1. It is listed as a uhf channel and is 22.2 miles away. One of the websites says it is on compass heading 252 while the others say it is at 263. This is the station I have the most trouble getting! The CBS channel is 11.1. It is listed on one of the sites as a uhf station but on the other as a VHF channel. It is 37.1 miles away on compass heading 263. It is also the channel I get with the best reception.

So what I would like your help with is what to do next to improve my reception of the NBC channel without comprising the other channels. I thank you for your help and all the good information I was able to get from just reading the other forum comments.
