Pixalation with converter

Postby MWENDO on Thu Nov 26, 2009 2:08 am

I'm getting ready to ditch my cable, but I have a lot of pixalation with my Digital Stream converter. I did not buy a new antenna in June, because the one I was using was getting excellent reception with analog. However it is an old Radio Shack indoor antenna (over 10 yrs old), and I was wondering if this has anything to do with it. I live in DC 20032, half up a hill. There are apartments all around me and I live on the 3rd floor, with a balcony where I can place a dish sized antenna.
I live in a red/blue/purple zone. If a new antenna would help, which would be the best one. If a new converter, which one.
Thanks Mwendo

Chances are that your antenna is inadaquate, since most of the digital signals in DC are now on UHF, with the exception of WUSA and WJLA. Unfortunately, the very BEST and very WORST indoor antennas don't vary much in quality, and I wouldn't guarantee that yu'll get gltch-free digital reception with ANY indoor antenna. If you don't have the ability to put an atenna on the roof, consider goinv with the basic-basic cable service,w which should only cost you $10.00 a month or so: you'll only get the broadcast channels when you do that, but you will get decent reception, at least.
