OTA with DirectTV HD DVR possible?

Not sure if this is the place to ask. I want to go to HD antenna instead of paying for TV. I dont watch any cable, only local channels. Will I be able to use an old DirectTV box I have lying around and use it as a DVR once 5 cancel the satellite service?
