Omnidirectional Antenna (for car)

Postby sabasgr on Wed Sep 03, 2008 1:18 pm

Hello! Hope you can help me a little bit! I have a portable dvd player with tv tuner. I bought it to have the possibility to watch dvds as well as tv in the car (well, my wife actually). I put a normal tv antenna on the windshield but, as we move around, the signal gets loose or nothing at all. I know that I cannot get a good signal this way. My question is: by installing an omnidirectional tv antenna (for example, winegard RS1500, or RS2000, or MS2000, they all amplified), will I get a better signal while moving? I won´t expect perfection here, but at least a more strong and stable signal going to tv. These antennas are intended for R/V, marine and motorhome use. What can you tell me about?
Thank you very much!!

I am not sure what you mean by a "normal tv antenna", but if you are using a simple whip antenna, then yes, MS-2000 will give you a better reception. You must understand though, that your channels will come and go when you are moving, it all depends on your distance from the towers and the surroundings and these are constantly changing (when moving).
