Newby looking for some atenna advice

Postby comer_341 on Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:12 am

Hello,

I would like some advice on antenna selection for my area. I have been told several times that Lebanon, OR is in a hole and TV reception is very difficult if not impossible however, I hope the opposite is true.

My search show 10 UHF and 2 VHF stations withing 70 miles of my location and I hope to be able to receive most of them. One channel that we would really like to get is PBS which is a VHF station 19 miles away...so I'm hoping there is a good dual band antenna that can be recommended. I plan on installing the antenna out side as long as it is not a huge eyesore in either height or size (I have a picky neighbor) and would be willing and able to install a rotator if needed to maximize channel reception.

The following information is provided to assist with suggestions;

I live in Lebanon, Oregon 97355.

I plan to run 2 televisions from the antenna system I install.

l do not live in a heavily forested area or have any tall buildings within 3-4 blocks of my location, there is 1 tower within 3 blocks of my location. Additionally, I have good line of sight without any obstructions other than the tower from the location I have planned for the antenna.

I will be using a 50 inch HDTV with a digital tuner and a 32 inch analog TV and plan on buying a digital converter box for the analog TV.

My TV Fool URL is: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapp ... b8a095b299

Best Regards,

Sam
