New antenna install...no lower band channels

I put up a new antenna installation this weekend (Winegard YA-1713 mounted 4 ft ABOVE an Antenna Direct 91XG) anlong with a Channel Master 7777 pre-amp mounted at approx. 25 - 30ft. to pull in the stations from Houston, TX some ~62 miles away (zip 77327).

I can get digital channels 14-67 as well as channel 2 (transmitting on RF ch. 35) all very clearly, but I cannot get channels 8 (PBS), 11(CBS), or 13 (ABC). I have scanned the channels 2 or 3 times but my TV cannot find these stations. It appears that no low band channels are coming in.

The anntenna(s) are pointed at approx 208 degrees to the antenna farm located SW of Houston.

I have a friend who lives 7 miles further north and east from me with a very old combo antenna mounted at about 15 ft. pulling in all channels with no problems.

What could possibly be the problem with my reception of the low band channels?

I just did a rescan, and now I get KBTX channel 3 out of Bryan, TX (transmitting on RF ch. 50) some 75+ miles northwest of my location.

No positional change to the antenna.

Still no low band.

I am quite sure that you didn't open the preamplifier and slide the 'combined/seperate switch into the separate position: without doing so, the preamplifier will only see the output of the UHF antenna. You'll need to rescan your tuner after making the switch.

I will double check it. I know the switch you are referring to, it is inside the 7777's instructions/tech document, but I don't recall seeing any switch(s) on my actual unit.
